

Mrs. Liza Morera-Taylor
Principal
Mrs. Liza Morera-Taylor is the proud principal of AcadeMir Charter School of Math and Science & AcadeMir Middle School of Math and Science. For over a decade, education has been a passion that she continues to foster through experience, self-reflection, and research. Mrs. Morera-Taylor earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Florida International University. Her career began as a classroom teacher, where she experienced teaching students in multiple grade levels. After earning a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, she joined the Academir family as an instructional coach tasked with mentoring and supporting classroom teachers. During this time, she decided to return to school to obtain an additional master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She spent five years developing and honing in her leadership skills as an assistant principal of elementary and middle schools. Through her experiences, she prepared for the principal role by setting standards and reaching goals to achieve academic and social emotional success in all her students.
As a wife and mother, Mrs. Morera- Taylor understands the importance of school faculty and parents/guardians working together to ensure each student receives an exceptional education in a safe and supportive environment. Through continuous research, she adapts to the ever-changing world of education to provide the latest curriculums, programs and resources to develop our students as twenty-first century learners.

Yesenia Hector
Asst. Principal
Mrs. Yesenia Hector is a dedicated educational leader with more than two decades of experience in teaching, curriculum development, instructional leadership, and professional development. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Havana, a master’s degree in Behavioral Analysis from the Complutense University of Madrid, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education. For the past 10 years, Mrs. Hector has proudly been a part of the AcadeMir family, serving in a variety of educational and leadership roles, including classroom teacher, instructional coach, STEM Coordinator, Professional Development Liaison, and Lead Teacher. Her diverse experiences have allowed her to mentor educators, support curriculum development, analyze student achievement data, and implement innovative instructional practices across multiple grade levels.
Mrs. Hector believes that successful schools are built through strong partnerships among students, educators, families, and the community. Her educational philosophy emphasizes creating safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments where every student is challenged and supported to reach their highest potential. This school year, she is proud to continue her journey with the AcadeMir family in the role of Assistant Principal, where she looks forward to supporting students, teachers, and families while contributing to the continued growth and success of the school community.
