Mrs. Liza Morera-Taylor

Principal

Mrs. Liza Morera-Taylor is the proud principal of AcadeMir Charter School of Math and Science & AcadeMir Middle School of Math and Science. For over a decade, education has been a passion that she continues to foster through experience, self-reflection, and research. Mrs. Morera-Taylor earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Florida International University. Her career began as a classroom teacher, where she experienced teaching students in multiple grade levels. After earning a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, she joined the Academir family as an instructional coach tasked with mentoring and supporting classroom teachers. During this time, she decided to return to school to obtain an additional master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She spent five years developing and honing in her leadership skills as an assistant principal of elementary and middle schools. Through her experiences, she prepared for the principal role by setting standards and reaching goals to achieve academic and social emotional success in all her students.

As a wife and mother, Mrs. Morera- Taylor understands the importance of school faculty and parents/guardians working together to ensure each student receives an exceptional education in a safe and supportive environment. Through continuous research, she adapts to the ever-changing world of education to provide the latest curriculums, programs and resources to develop our students as twenty-first century learners.

Mrs. Nancy Roque

Asst. Principal

Mrs. Roque has been with Academir Charter Schools of Math and Science since the spring of 2023. She has
over 27 years of experience in education and has served in the capacity of ESOL Coordinator,
Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal and Principal. Mrs. Roque holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum
and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational
Leadership, also from Nova Southeastern University. She is a Certified Educator, through the State of
Florida, and holds endorsements in Elementary Education K-6, English for Speakers of Other Languages
K-12, Reading, and Educational Leadership All Levels. Mrs. Roque strongly believes that all children can
learn, so long as they are nurtured and treated with respect. She looks forward to a year filled with
opportunities for our students to grow, not just physically, but academically and mentally, as well.
